PoolProof Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 20, 2026

Overview.

PoolProof is field service software for pool care companies, built and operated by Step Technologies ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information PoolProof handles and how.

What we collect.

Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a password. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider (Supabase) and are never visible to us.

Service records. The app stores the work records that pool care crews create: job checklists, water chemistry readings, photos of pools and equipment, flagged issues, quotes, and visit times. Photos are taken only when you tap the camera button; PoolProof never accesses your photo library or captures anything in the background.

Customer details. Companies using PoolProof enter service details for the properties they maintain, such as names, service addresses, email addresses, and access notes. That information is used only to run their service routes and send their customers service reports.

How it's used.

Service records sync to our cloud database (hosted by Supabase) so that crews, owners, and customers of the same company see the same day. Service reports and quotes are delivered by email through Resend. We use your information only to provide these features.

We do not sell personal information. We do not show ads. We do not use advertising trackers or analytics that profile you across other apps and websites.

The shared demo account.

The demo sign-in exists so anyone can explore PoolProof with sample data. Everything done in the demo account stays on the device, resets automatically, and is never uploaded.

Data retention and deletion.

You can permanently delete your account and its data at any time from inside the app: tap your initials in the top corner, then Delete account. You can also email us at the address below and we will delete your data within 30 days.

Security.

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with access controls in Supabase's infrastructure. Work in progress is stored locally on the crew member's device and synced when a connection is available.

Children.

PoolProof is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy.
